You either never played a souls game, never played outside of the starter area, don't like anime aesthetics or have entirely different expectations to what the actually game is. So, saying "it just never feels right." doesn't mean anything whatsoever.
Boss fights fine, there are a lot which is pretty standard to the game's length. However, Scarlet Nexus appears to take some inspiration from Nier: Automata.

I actually enjoyed playing around with the builds in Code Vein than Sekiro which apparently has none to speak of. Weapon variety was good, felt good, build potentials were very good.
